National Rugby League (NRL) is the top league of professional rugby league football clubs in Australasia. The NRL competition (sometimes referred to as the Telstra Premiership for sponsorship purposes) is contested by 16 teams, 15 based in Australia and one based in New Zealand, and is the Southern Hemisphere's elite rugby league championship.
Rabbitohs
The South Sydney Rabbitohs (often shortened to Souths) are an Australian professional rugby league football team based in Redfern, a suburb of South-Central Sydney[1]. They participate in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership and are one of nine existing teams from the New South Wales capital. The club was formed in 1908 as one of the founding members of the New South Wales Rugby Football League, Australia's first governing body for the sport and predecessor of the current National Rugby League. They are one of only two foundation clubs still present in the league, the other being the Sydney Roosters.
The Rabbitohs' traditional heartland covers the once-typically working class suburbs of inner-south and south eastern Sydney, however they have long held a wide supporter base spread all over New South Wales. The team's home ground is currently ANZ Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park.

St. George Dragons
The St George Dragons are an Australian rugby league club that has, since 1999, formed a joint venture St. George Illawarra Dragons team of the National Rugby League. St George are still represented as a stand alone entity at a junior level, with teams representing the district in the Harold Matthews Cup (under 16's) and the S.G. Ball Cup (under 18's). The St.George Dragons are the senior partner in the St.George-Illawarra Dragons partnership and assumed control of the Illawarra region following the complete demise of the Illawarra Steelers.
Entering the New South Wales Rugby Football League in 1921, the St. George club won 15 premierships, including 11 in succession between 1956 and 1966, a record for sporting competitions at the time. The Dragons thus became second to only the South Sydney Rabbitohs in terms of total premierships won in the NSW Rugby Football League. Following the Super League war and formation of the NRL, the club took over the Illawarra Steelers in 1998, forming the St. George Illawarra Dragons. The new St.George entity first fielded a side in the NRL competition in 1999, and that year also reached the grand final.
